In my honest opinion, your story is probably one-sided, and I don't think a step-mom would just up and kick you out because your room is messy. If your story is near true though, I would simply take the woman to court, as long as you have proof of what happened. In all honesty, I would have called the police regardless of family relations. Just so you did everything nice and legal.

If you don't let him know, he won't know - as simple as that sounds. Ask him exactly what sort of outcome he wants from this situation, and what he expects to happen. Then tell him what you want, and work from there. If you both know exactly what the other person wants it's much easier to find a middle ground.
