So I made my box out of wood glue, liquid nails, and scilicone caulk

well hopefully you waited a bit before using and puttin in your woofers. I've heard that the fumes can damage the surround or what not. Might be gibberish but who knows. And yea it will start to fade with time

i usually resin mine so it smells terrible. i let it air out for literally about 2 weeks. it takes a long time to get 0 smell from resined boxs
right. mine still smells when i turn the subs on and its been in my car for 3 weeks

Generally the silicone based sealants will destroy foam surrounds. If it is just normal caulk, there usually is nothing to worry about. I still let EVERYTHING cure at least 24 hours before installing the subwoofer and playing that first bass note.

Also, I hope the OP used something more than liquid nails to hold important joints together. I've found it real easy to disassemble enclosures held together with screws and liquid nails after pulling the screws. Titebond on the other hand, stays PUT!

ETA: basscort has me wanting to build some fiberglass enclosures.... just to smell the resin. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

in the title it saye wood glue so hopefully he used the liquid nail for the inside joints

yea i used about a gallon on my box. yummy!

On my last build I wanted to make sure my box was aired out really well so I stock a huge box fan face down on the sub opening...the air was blowing through the box and out the port like crazy, lol. Needless to say it doesn't stink...

I used tightbond II wood glue to assemble the box, before I put the top on I covered all seams with scilicone II, I couldn't think of a way I could seal the top seams when I put the top on, so I used tightbond II wood glue + liquid nails to hold the top on.

Then I used x96 1 5/8 coarse threaded drywall screws.

I only waited a few days till I put my sub in (dc lvl 4 12'').

Think I'll have problems??

wait, 96 screws?
f*ck.
Yeah, the smallest amount home depot sold was a pound, so I figured I wouldn't be using them for anything else, and I'd just use as many as I could //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
