So I Kracked open some Krystal RCA Kable

I'm impressed at how well the rep from Knu came back with information instead of name-calling and berating people (like some other company reps have been known to do)
Clearly a company that cares about the consumer, rather than the $ at the end of the day.
I agree, and took the time to buy other competitors product to compare and not really putting down other company just stating facts.

Refer back to my coaxial wire in a TV over the air ANT input - take an un-terminated Coaxial cable strip 1" from the end and insert the bare copper center into the ANT input. Leave the other end alone and unexposed. Do you have a picture? No. Now, strip back 6-8" of the shielding at the end opposite the TV, do you have picture? Yes.

A shield is a shield, it is blocking high frequencies regardless of being grounded. I'd say in 90%-95% of installs with noise come from a ground loop. Take the power and ground of the radio, isolate it from the factory harness and run dedicated power./ground from the same dist block that the amp is getting power from. That should fix any problem (other then a Pioneer HU)

Megalomaniac - Do me a favor and post an update on each of those, I would appreciate that since your original post of "DO NOT BUY THESE" has no merit and is soley based on your speculation and nothing more.
I see you already went ahead and updated one of them for me I will let you handle the other one. Dont forget this one :

and I guess I should I have worded it "dont buy these if you want a functioning shield"

Dont think I am registered there, i'll check it out.
cool, I really hope in your 09 line up that you just add a little wire and ground them shields. You can increase your prices too if you want, if it means having a better overall cable(long as its not taralab prices //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif)

So if the KNU cable transmits more of the alt whine vs other cables does that mean it passes a stronger signal over-all?

If that's true then once you get your HU/ground loop issues in order you should have the best signal possible...

Meglo,
If you make your own cables why would you care what KNU makes? Doesn't seem like a sincere request at all. If you want grounded cables then make em...
I bought the knu cable didnt I? Gives me every right to care. Its too way late to ask for a refund, and even if I did ask for a refund I dont think I would get one since I cut the cable to see whats inside.

again......if you make your own cables why would you buy a KNU cable? Just not understanding your motivation/reasoning behind this. I would "assume" you can make an equal/superior product for less $$$.

Why would you want a refund? The cable did it's job, your alt whine problem isn't do to the cable. If your cable reduced the nosie it's still just a band aid at best, so fix the problem at the source and EITHER cable will perform acceptably //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

he might not have made cables then, when he bought the Knu.

I made the cable after i bought the cable, which has been a few years now, and I liked the way Knus cable looked at the time. whats my motive? none, other than just posting my findings. a shield is not a shield unless its grounded, period. Only thing helping that cable reject noise is being twisted. seems the lower line uses a coax type cable and has a grounded shield. only dif is flexibility im assuming so I guess that still wont fit my needs. Do you like to be mislead? I certainly dont. take my opinion with a grain of salt , if you want.
