So I just got royally shafted....RE: wrecked car

I was driving to work today and waiting at the red light. Got a green left arrow, turned left, and a woman runs the red light and slams into my passenger side (no passenger luckily), completely totalling my car. The frame is bent beyond repair and everything I've put into my car ($5k+ in mods/stereo) over the past 4 years is completely ruined.

The best part - no witnesses stopped to give a statement, so I got cited for failure to yield and the driver who hit me didn't get charged with anything. Now I have to deal with my insurance company and hope they don't cancel my policy, have to go to court, and have to hire a lawyer. Anyone else have a good day?

Side note - pics coming tomorrow

either you're not telling the whole story or you let them railroad you and somehow forgot to defend yourself.
That's the whole story. It's my word against hers right now since no witnesses came forward. Since there was no witness statement and I was the one turning, she supposedly had the right of way in that situation. Complete BS. We're trying to find a way to prove she had the red light. I have to get the police report and talk to one of the officers that questioned her tomorrow. One person stopped to see if anyone was hurt but left while I called 911. We posted a message on our community message board to try to find a witness.

You do know that as far as defending her claim against you that your insurance company will do that right?

Why did the cop take her word over yours?
