So i just found this truck on craigslist

that is a lot of miles i an almost guarantee they used it as a tow pig with that many miles. i wouldnt buy it for that reason alone. my old boss had that exact truck and had to rebuild the transmission 3 times with half as many miles.

Lemme tell u this.

My ex coupla months back sold her tahoe for 1500.

First i thought she cud get a btter deal and i encouraged not to sell but after trying selling it myself for few months i decided what the hell Plus that mofo was a big time guzzler.

Desciption:

it was 1994. Numerous dents on the body, cracked windshield, leather interior fronts seats are ripped, radio stolen, rear view mirror broken and 1 was missing, Heater not working, 1 tire was slashed, transmission fluid leaking, right front door handle broken (smbdy needs to help to open the door for u).

i live on a farm, there would be plenty of use for it around where i live.

where i go to school if you don't drive a truck u r the minority, theres kids around here that make 1k + a week just hauling brush

also when i said "loan" i meant roughly 2k, i've already got 3 and if i sold my truck i could pay for outright.

i hope u have another 3 k for this years mechnical bills on it. and double that for gas. u HAVE to take into consideration the cost of rebuilding a ****** if it drops on you or swapping out rear diff gears if those are stripped. id say def have it taken and insepcted before purchase if it had half as many miles id b on ur side cause let me tell u that truck hauls and is an awesome truck. just make sure u cover ur *** first

i leave for basic in 2 months, so it would sit in my driveway for 9 weeks when i left and i would have a 4k cushion when i get back

sounds like a very feasable choice for you then as long as ur aware and willing to spend themoney on it to keep it running. its a badass truck just 300k miles is A LOT. good luck and i asked them if it was indeed a towing truck cause if so thats a lot of stress on the truck and im sure the motor is pretty tired.

Then sell your truck and don't get a loan.
P.S. Something is obviously broken though> I don't know if it is the speedometer or what, but I do know that Fords don't last that many miles.
but i would like to use this as more of a work truck than a daily driver. so that every time i start it up i'm makin money with it.

i go to look at it tomorrow

id buy it, but as a second vehicle. Im actually plannin on buying something like this in the next couple years to haul vehicles that i buy.

And i had a 97 F250 4X4 that was running strong up til i sold it...with 275,000 miles. Sure, a few things went wrong, i had to replace the glowplugs, the front hubs (Stock auto hubs **** donkeydick) and a few other small maintenence things, front end etc. But i drove the piss out of it for a few years and it was a tank.

WTF for? It sounds like you are going into the military. You don't need this truck.
just reserves, not full time. this is more of an investment than anything. where i plan on going to college is just as rural as where i live now. this could pay for itself over the winter with as much snow as we get.
