I've never heard of them before, but seem promising. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I was wondering how the 8.2 Iridium 8" woofer performs vs the 6.5". Obviously, it will have better low end response, but does it hold flat to the tweeter crossover point? I may be over analyzing this, as the audible difference may be negligible.

Also, what material are the speakers made out of? I'm a sucker for smooth sounding silk tweeters, and frightenly the DLS' appear to utilize aluminum or such //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I was looking at prices and specs of Diamond D9 and the usual CDT ES-620Z/Focal lineups when I found these //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Also in the latest search for equipment, I noticed that the ED 6500 component set uses woofers and crossovers that look **** near identical to CDT. Could it be that the ED 6500 uses the same woofers as the CDT ES series (sans 07)?

Don't get the ES-620s I want the DLSs now... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/drool.gif.b5e863e893038027711d4402f340dad0.gif
So how did they just miraculously "come to be" ??

And you think they are actually better than ES-620Z's? If so, why? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Come to be? WTF!
I say they are better because I have heard both and I like the DLS better...
I've never heard of them before.

When I think of high end, I used to think Morel, Dynaudio, CDT, Focal.. and the high end DIY such as Vifa, Scanspeak, etc. Never ever ever heard of DLS until I stumbled upon them searching the site.

And as far as the "DLS sounds better" comment, could you clarify on what you liked better?

What would you consider Diamond Audio? I personally consider them high-end...
With the D9's weighing in at 1200+ they better be high end! I can get CDT ES-620Z's for ~ $800, so price is weighing a major role in that decision. I just really wonder if you would even notice a $400 dollar difference between the two. Same situtation on the DLS's. The 8" Iridium ones are EXPENSIVE, but if they are truly worthy over the 6.5" Iridium ones. And the cones only take 100W, and are made of paper, I kinda wonder how durable they are, especially at really loud volumes.

The other angle is that these are going into factory locations (03 F150) so imaging isn't going to be that great. Not to mention I mostly listen to KMK (which is rap) and Techno. I almost get the feeling these are designed for Jazz, Classical, etc. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

And the final twist is whatever I buy (unless I want JL, MB Quart or Best Buy stocked brands, I will have to buy them sight unseen and unheard //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I would because I own them? No I was just wondering why that company wasnt included in high end...I would also include rainbow
The list was not all-inclusive.

Get the DLS I have the ur6s. They are made out of micro fiber I think remind me of what the old . They ate really nice the mid bass isnt great but I dont have deadened doors yet and I am only giving them half the power they want. I dont know about iridiums though. I listen to rap and they sound good to me. The tweeter is silk in my set
