Anyways, I have some speakers and an Excelon HU in my car now, and I was thinking about adding an amp and just one 10 or 12" sub in the near future. I was going to buy an amp, but then I realized I have this amp just lying around from a few years back. Now, mind you I bought the thing when I had no idea what I was doing or looking for (and I still really don't) so I'm here to ask, is it any good?
It's a JBL LC-A504 amplifier, 200W 4-channel amp. I'm just looking for something to clean up my music a little and power one sub (Even though the Excelon's built in amp already sounds incredible). Would this thing fit the bill? Does anyone have any experience with it?
Edit: And for the record, the speakers are Alpine SPS-17C2's, rated at 2-50W RMS 250 peak. It seems like this thing would put out plenty to the speakers, I just don't know much about subs. Also, what would be the difference between running 2-channel and 4-channel? Should I look for a 4ohm or 2ohm sub? I know these are beginner questions, but I've gotta start somewhere //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
