and started running it last night. Wire looks sweet, and hopefully will do my Rainbows some justice when everything gets hooked up, but this shit is as thick as 1/0. It was a ***** trying to get it through to the door. It got there, but not before my hands took a nice beating. So now I have the equivalent of 3 runs of 1/0 running to the back. I am just glad the Tahoe has pleanty of room to hide this stuff.

If anyone else is interested in it, it feels like some of the best speaker wire I have dealt with (in terms of insulation and build quality (?). //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

Anyway, just thought I'd share. I have pics if wanted and can post them up later today or tom. (forgot the cam at home)

To me copper is copper. I can do the same thing with a $9 roll of walmart wire and a drill.
but if it makes you happy iz all good.
X2. Speaker wire is over-rated. Power wire is where you need the good heavy stuff. Speaker wire isnt all that important. It doesn't affect sound quality at all.

I wouldn't say it doesnt' affect it at all, but I agree it's overrated. Do you really think you're gonna hear the "skin effect" they talk about?

That said, it does look sweet.

I like it because it has all the wire I need for my active set up in one run. I didn't realize it would be quite that thick. I like the idea of having the extra shielding on the wire, may make a difference, may not, but I have spent enough money on nice stuff to not skimp on wire.

Twisting is good to help reduce noise introduction. Braiding is better. The conductor doesnt make a difference as long as it conducts well enough to not cause major votlage drop/distortion. Twisting/Sheilding/Brading are the only things that sperate two idetntical grade wires. Twisting is usually fine (usually doesnt offer a whole lot of advantage over braiding on high voltage signal) and sheilding is only needed if you are running it near some super noisy areas.

my $0.02. Buy Walmart SOSCHE wire 9good insulation and quite flexible for the price), cut the length you need plus and extra few feet. Put one end in the drill and the other in a vice. Twist intill you have 1 full turn per inch or so tape, put the other end in a vice (the dirll end) and keep it taught for 24hrs. Keep the ends taped and dont let it kink and vualla...twisted wire.

If I'm going to spend money on fancy wires its going to be fancy RCA's with silver stranded wire completely sealed, braided, and sheilded. The RCA's that are as thick as a run of 1/0 and cost $10/foot. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That is some sexy speaker wire.... i also like to do thing right, i always worry about going high end on one part of my system and then only going half way on the other and it cause the whole system to be half assed... you know what i mean?
