So i got fired today...

Sorry to hear that man. It sounds like you're young.. If so dont sweat it, no one looks at a pizza place as a serious job, so getting fired wont hurt the resume too much. Good luck man

Su cks bro, but where one door closes another one opens. If you end up having to get unemployment don't get lazy cuz it's easier to get a new job right after you've left one. All these dumb fucks abusing the unemployment system have hugh gaps in their resumes and most don't have a good explanation for why they do. Just talk and network with other people and stay diligent and you'll end up in a better place than you were before
I was laid off Nov 30 because they closed down my district. The offered us 2 choices: 1transfer to the next closest yard (75 miles one way for me); 2 work 20 days on and 10 days off flying to North Dakota. I rode it out for as long as possible to catch as much salary as I could. Then they finally penned me down and forced an answer. I told them I would take the third option and take unemployment once they decide that they were done with me.

I have some gaps in my resume. I was fired for an accident in a company vehicle on private property so it isn't on my record. A 5 month gap where I lived on my saving because I quit a job that I burned out from working 10-16hour days 7 days/week. The next was 8 months when Schlumberger doesn't like it when you total a million dollar truck. I never filed for unemployment. I had some money stashed away both time. I didn't plan on being out of work for that long the second time around. I just happened to lay the truck on its side 2 weeks before the Fanny May and Freddy Mac debacle. I haven't had any complications getting a job. I have another one lined up. I just have to wait for somebody to leave.

I got in an argument with my boss at a burger joint and she told me to clock out and go home. I did so and never returned. Not sure if that counts as me getting fired or not...

It was stupid too, it was a college job and I told them before I even started I couldn't work ANY weekends because I always drove back to my hometown on weekends. Well they had a mandatory meeting ON THE WEEKEND and tried to write me up for not attending...

so you were a pizza boy?

how you get fired on your day off?
I had a week off, and then my boss called me to let me know I had to come in that weekend, because I didn't request the weekend off also. A furnace went out Friday. They didn't call the guy covering for me. When I got there on Sat. I couldn't get the part to fix it because it's the weekend. So I was fired later that week for neglecting the residents. It was an excuse, the new boss got rid of almost everyone.

I was glad to go. It is not fun to work where you are not wanted. I was there for 3.5 years. And no problems until that boss started. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/pissed.gif.9f665f96bc89e98e708dabd4580bb591.gif

I will never have gaps in my employment no matter what. After owning two legitimate businesses I go ahead and fill in the gaps with all kinds of employment.

Also, If you have friends that are in business for them selves then use them to fill in the gaps.

I have never really been fired but I have quit at least 20 sh1t jobs.

Fck em!

for some time now the policy has been... More work, less pay, less benefits, and less help from co-workers when it gets slammed.

Until things change a business will never have my loyalty.
