To The forum: I have watched many of you in here, and your amazing set ups, and the struggles you have-- with some freakin AMAZING SYSTEMS -- getting above the 150 mark. I have a hard time swallowing the claims of 155 in a sealed box. Some of the BEST builders in here barely hit 155 in the port. Am I wrong? (in a daily driveable vehicle)
To the shop owners friend/family member: What meter did they use, where is your physical/paper proof? Do you have proof? I have never heard of sealed box getting above or beyond 148. And I believe that was just bragging. Again, no proof offered on here yet to substantiate your claims.
Stating this so smugly, you may as well say that you can beat Alma Gates and your builds/or any sealed build will easily hit 190 Db... both ignorant .
If your team/shop does do such a good job, can I ask why the missed, but very important, detail work in a majority of the pictures we saw on your companies web page? I certainly wouldnt want any one to speak poorly of any work I have done... and because of this I will not put any pictures up for others to see. I unfortunately dont have the funds or time to do the quality of work my peers in here have shared.
I do like your companies fiberglass work (better than I will probably ever be able to do) but you MUST broaden your horizons and dont get stuck in that rut that kills so many companies. If you dont diversify you will die. (speaking of car audio of course)
Some people like the ridiculously loud bass, hence the reason for the ported system. I prefer sound quality and I dont like the excessive boom, so I go with sealed. Just because I like one thing doesnt make it wrong if someone else has different tastes. Your company, trying to tell its clients that a sealed or fiberglass box is the only way to go, is just ridiculous. That tells me you only have installers/builders with one or two really good skills that cannot build a ported box... because they dont understand the calculations? (just phishin' here) You should, instead of rebutting the criticism you have received in an on-line forum, maybe send your installers to school and help them expand their already amazing talents.
With that being said, I have never heard a sealed set up, as you claim, be able to go head to head and compete with a like install (that was ported vs. Sealed) considering of course, per current rules, they would be able to compete in the same class. I would love to see the competition and get results tho'!
Each type of enclosure has its place and is as diverse as the people installing it.
P.S.... do everyone a favor when posting pics, get rid of the gym bag, old soda bottles/cans, ciggarette butts, and anything else that is not essential to the install. Just adds a tackiness that iosnt necissary.
Thats justy my opinion.. I could be wrong (and will probably be flamed)
.............................or is it just a peenis thing? LOL!!!
