so i got a new job...

i make 2500/mo PTafter taxes as an installer...in san antonio its pretty good cash. i am renting a 2 bedroom right now until they finish building my house on my property. i own my 2007 HHR, and my only bills are the $500 rent, insurance, and some other minor expenses. i get to pocket about 1k a month. my fincee is also finishing her Masters and soon i will be able to stop working and finish my degree. she is gonna be a Physical Therapist...pay starts at $28+/hr

i figured that was the green light so i can quit working and get my f-ing degree.

 
Nice job....I wasn't sure what the base pay was for car salesmen.
And since you are at a dealership, you gain some legitamacy.

Also remember quick math...

Say a customer is considering buying a 10,000 car and you are allowed to sell it at any price above 8.5k.

Say the customer offers you 9k. I wouldn't even try to negotiate 9.5k.

Here's why:

10,000 * .05 = $500

9,000 * .05 = $450

9,500*.05= $475

Why risk losing the sale over $25?
Somebody read their Freakonomics. Good book.

That's also why you should never have a real estate agent help you buy a home, they could care less about getting you the lowest possible price because it gives them such an insignificant bonus, of course, depending on what their incentives are, but I'd say most of them are in it for the quickest $?
