So i built my computer, now ive got some questions.

I have ...friends... that have installed many OSs on many computer from burned cds w/ no prob, you just got a bad one looks like. Look in better places for your files would be my recommendation.
i think he got a quick copy of an original cd. most cd's that you make direct copies of that are software or games will burn a copy but not function correctly. unless if it's done right.

i.e. i could take say my battle field 2 install cd's and burn them all 100%, install the game 100%, but when it comes to run the game the splash screen will boot me and ask for the correct CD. i could keep trying and trying with the copied disk and nothing would work. then i could just take the original and then it would load up fine, or just find a no-cd patch.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

disk write speed has nothing to do with read speed.. for instance.. you could burn an audio cd at 52x... and stick it in your cars cd player.. would the cd player go berzerk cause the cd was written at 52x?

write speed is just the shorter amount of time you have to wait for cd to be produced.

So my dads boss bought a new computer for her shop, i picked it out and whatnot but it came with a copy of XP home.

So i try to install it with the LG drive, it wouldnt even boot up to the disk. I swap it for a (really) old drive i had laying around. I get it installed and whatnot and everything is fine and

dandy.

However there is this one last problem. With the internet its really fast and all, but there's an issue with the scrolling. When i try to scroll up or down, it is really slow and choppy like. Its really hard to explain so ill have a video up of it soon.

Also when i tried to play music (WMP) it said there was no sound device installed or it was not working properly. There is onboard sound im pretty sure, atleast there is sound ports on the back.

Otherwise im really happy with it, its nice and fast and i also have experience now too.

So i recently got it running good for a while then it crashed, twice.

Once i was installing google sketchup and it was in the middle of the installation but it was going REALLY slow so i turned off the computer. Wouldnt boot up again, i figured my bad, so i reinstalled XP and got it running again. I was on it after i finished and it said it needed to restart because it had just installed updates, it said it would auto restart in 5 minutes. I put it off till i was finished and when i got back on it it was semi-froze, so i resart it, and bam: disk boot failure on startup.

WTF is wrong with this thing? The hard drive makes a funny noise when it tries to read. Im going to talk to newegg to see if i can just swap it with a pre built PC. Im tired of messing with it. Is it really supposed to be this hard? Its an OEM copy of XP, not a bootleg.
