color would help. Its probably an extra ground for noise etc..Just took a look at my LOC and it appears that one of the wires is cut... Not the wires with RCA connectors attached but the small wires in the middle. I don't know what you call those sorry
I don't know of anyone else with a an amp I can try lol. I know there's a multi meter laying around here somewhere. To check, what exactly do I need to do once I pull the sub and what will be a clear sign that either my amp or sub is bad readings wise?AS mentioned before-- take the subs out and check them.CAn you borrow an amp from someone?
Can you run speaker wires from a friends car to your subs?
You're just going to have to troubleshoot
Yeah I'm not going to use my sub until we get this sorted out. I found a multimeter but yeah youre pretty sure it's the amp? Btw, no smell but def clipping not going to keep playing around lolLoc, gain on amp turned halfway up. I'd stop I have no doubt your clipping the hell out that sub. Smell it from here.
I would try that, but there's no need for 0 AWG wiring on a 500w amp... Yes the amp gets warm, but it isn't cutting out due to heat. I have felt the amp and it is no warmer than it usually is. My system is pretty basic compared to what you're running lolLooks like the problem oddly enough was an insufficient sized pwr and gnd, 4AWG should go to both amps and right now it's only going to the big P9 amp and it no longer runs hot at all! 0AWG from the battery and dist blocks to split it into two 4AWG pwr and gnd. And I got installer guy to run a dedicated 12- ground cable to the battery too. That's what cured the V9 amp heating problem, oddly enough!
John Kuthe...
