So apparently no one knows about this amp...

Newbers, they just annoy me sometimes.

Gets on here makes multiple threads about how someone better help, waits 3 minutes, complains that no one helps. YET I search google and find 5 things in a matter of one click.

he cant spell the word fail, you think he can search? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

actually i spelled phail on purpose..

its a css thing.

According to the manual the RMS output ratings are as follows ~

300w X 2 @ 4 Ohm stereo

450w X 2 @ 2 Ohm stereo

I will assume, going by the above figures, that Lanzar is claiming around 900w RMS in 4 Ohm mono bridged mode though they do not actually provide an RMS bridged output wattage rating. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Now - knowing Lanzar's predisposition to being more than a bit optimistic on their output ratings we have to take the above with a grain of salt and going by the knowledge that expecting 80% of claimed output for an amp of this quality (or lack thereof) is inandofitself still more than a bit optimistic but that's what we'll use for the sake of argument.

So - more realistic output expectations should be more in the area of ~

240w X 2 @ 4 Ohm stereo

360w X 2 @ 2 Ohm stereo

720w X 1 @ 4 Ohm mono bridged

Or thereabouts...

hmm i think you were the one who told me about the 900rms guess last time :p..

but yeah this seems like help to me.. kind of what i was aiming for when i made the thread.. not really looking for flaming but ok.

and the reason I dont google or go with any other type of media to learn about this amp is because I trust people here... atleast the people that are willing to give you a good guess and know what they're doing..

if anything the flaming makes me guess you don't really know shit about the amp, thus no real answer..

however prowler here is proving how much more mature he is than others aswell as how much more he knows about car audio than others..

thanks prowler... i appreciate it.

Shhhhh!!

Don't let Mrs Prowler know that. I've traded for many years now on a claimed incurable case of Acute Immaturity and thus far she's been willing to tolerate it. If she found out it was all an act I'd be done for! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

as well as how much more he knows about car audio than others..

It's not superior knowledge, fella. The manual for that amp is easily available on Lanzar's site and I can do simple math in my head. It's common sense more than it is superior intellect. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

But as far as the response that actually contained some info for you?

You're welcome.

Only because I want this thread to end.

Guess what, I googled it...just used the whole amp name. AND WOWSA! A search engine found what I wanted.

Look at about the 5 or 6th post.

Says about 900watts RMS and also the first few posts say it is really over rated, then they talk about checking the fuse size.

I think it ended before your post..

now another question

can you sue for false advertising? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

fuse rating 2 x 35 amp

35 + 35 = 70

70 x 14 volts = 980

IIRC: if the amp was 100% efficient it would put out 980 watts.

of course its not, so your looking at less then 980 watts from that amp

Well, I have a Zed made US Acoustics USA2300 thats rated at 900w mono, and it only uses a 60w fuse.

it should be about perfect for a pair of 400w dvc 4's.

As far as what it actually does...

I wouldn't at all say it CAN'T do 900w rms.

A year or two ago someone benchtested a 268 (with 2x30A). It did 923 at 4 bridged.

Fuses don't tell the whole story. ATC fuses can pass a lot more than rated current for a few seconds before blowing. The way amp designers specify fuse size varies pretty widely.
