LMAO!!! What kind of snake was it? If it's only a foot long, it may not come out for a mouse. If it's a garter snake or something, it would be more likely to eat crickets.

Snakes don't have ears, so bumping won't hurt it. It will definitely feel the vibrations, but you won't kill it that way, and it definitely won't drive it out of its hiding place.

How cold is it where you are? The snake will shut down completely, and even die, if it can't stay warm. You can use that to your advantage. If you haven't run your engine in a while, try this:

Get an extension cord and plug in a small heating blanket. Put the heating blanket inside of a shoebox, and secure the lid. Cut a 1" hole in the side of the shoebox, and put the contraption down in your floorboard. If that snake is in your car, and it's cold out, it will go straight to the warmth. You may need to leave it overnight. If that doesn't work, assuming there are no more warm spots in your car, then you can rest assured that the snake is either gone or dead.

Good luck! I'm not afraid of snakes (I have a Burmese python as a pet), but I am deathly afraid of spiders. If someone put a turantula in my ride, there would be he11 to pay.

it isnt that cold....today was 65-70....just not hot enough or cold enough.

i ran the heat inside the car w/ windows up nothing, and i talked 2 the owner and he said they feed it mice so thats y i bought one.

the lil boy is like 10years old max. and he let a girl hold it (dumb 17y/o hoe) and she put it on the dash so it ran in the crevice.

jluv u got any more ideas? i have a glad container w/ holes all in the lid and it hasnt come for it yet, but if it does it cudnt get to the mice anyway. im thinkin of putting it in a larger open container, maybe a bucket cuz i know if it eats that mice it aint moving for a while.

it was fed last saturday and was supposed to be fed 2day, guy said by monday he shud be starving, lets hope he comes for the mice.

and i HATE snakes and heights.

How cold is it there at night? 65-70 is cold for a snake. It will still go to the heating blanket to stay wartmer than that, especially overnight if it gets colder. If it gets a lot colder, that snake will abandon ship or die. If you ran your heater, it could be in your vents or next to your heater core. If the motor is warm, it would probably try to curl up near it. You will have much better luck with the heating blanket than you will with food. Snakes can go a LONG time without eating, but will not survive if they get too cold.
