Small Space Pure SQ

Req isn't really IB.

He just created a baffle to use what trunk space he has as a large (yet still relatively small) enclosure.

As to the OP; What is your definition of pure SQ? Most of the experienced people speak of true SQ subbass as a subwoofer that can blend seamless into the rest of the system so that you don't even realize a subwoofer is producing the bass; just enough output to properly reproduce the original recording not a bit less and not a bit more.

On the other hand, most amatuers/novices/street beaters refer to "SQ" as a subwoofer that doesn't lose it's composure while thumping at 140db+.

Which category do you fall into? Somewhere in between, maybe?

Basically I want to have it reproduce bass as clean as possible without overpowering the speakers. I don't want "can't tell it's there" level, but just a bit more so it is defenatly noticable.

While I like the idea, I'd like to see how you propose to do that in a wagon.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
DD's sound like *** and aren't even close to being SQ subs. The real question is if you have limited space, how much space do you have?

I'm seriously surprised that after posting that, you still have your testicles. DD's are **** nice sounding woofers, and I take it that you've never heard a 9100 DD. That's a shame, it's one of the most accurate subs I've heard....

But yeah, DD's just sound like *** and aren't close to SQ subs. It's in the install asshat....

The OP was referring to 1500's moron.

140dB is no longer sound quality, you cannot seemlessly integrate a driver that is producing sound pressure levels that exceed 40-50dB compared to the front stage, specifically midbass.

to the thread starter, Dayton loudspeaker makes some lovely extremely low distortion subwoofers in their Dayton reference line. They are the equivalent to the levels of performance associated with the Peerless XLS line of drivers, but cost >$50-75 less. You can find the Dayton reference drivers at partsexpress.com
