Small hole in foam surround -- no effect on performance!

The punch 60 is only about 50% efficient so it would only be putting out in the nieghborhood of 225W at that current draw. Those amps were quite underrated, so that is not entirely unheard of for a 3 ohm load. You can reach the mechanical limits of the W6v1 with only 150W in a small sealed enclosure, so you should be getting the most of it with that power. I never ran more than about 150 to mine and they pretty well got off.

If you check JLs website you will find no mention anywhere of a D3 sub. Only D2, D4, D6, D1.5 and the W5 series @ D8.

I have fond memories of the original w6; That's what started my addiction. Three 10w6 in a box built with pure guesswork on a California 1200w amp in a Nissan Pulsar with shaved locks and a chain and padlock holding the trunk down.

They were D6, else how would three D3's been run in parallel?

Didn't they have a third terminal for linking them together?

I too have fond memories of them. 6 10s in a reg cab '85 Ranger in a 4 cf box powered by a Orion 2100HCCA. When they were really going the air moving between the seats could blow out a match.

They had a twin tab terminal for each coil so you could wire them up.
