doing a footprint system, or at least a small box system in my extended cab s10. narrowed it down to 3 sub(s). focal 33v1 ported, in 1.4 cubes. FI bl 10 inch ported, in 1.25 cubes. or 2 DD 1508's in 1 cube ported. out of the 3, i've only heard the focal, which i did like. i'm leaning towards the FI so far. i'd like to keep it under 1.5 cubes ported. sub size makes no difference, in terms of cone size. the FI 10 will probably be the louder option, but that focal sounded pretty good, especially considering it was a 13 stuffed in a small box. also considered downfiring 3 or 4 shallow mounts. stealth is the key. doing the jvc chameleon for the deck. after i find someone who will actually pay for my ppi pc2350, i'll be getting the alpine pdx 1000. would like some more options on small box subs to choose from. anywhere from an 8 inch sub and up will work, as long as it works well in under 1.5 ported.

looks like a nice sub. good xmax. i'm not going for spl, but i'd like to get loud enough to do db drag, just to play around.

Shallow mount and someone said it only required like 1^ft maybe less, and it was pretty **** loud...???

i did take a hard look at those. a little more money than the others i considered. i know shallow mounts can do pretty well. i built 1 this summer with the cheaper pioneer shallow mounts, ported in .65 per 12. not bad really.

i do like the idea of running 8's. if for nothing else, just to dispell people who claim 8's can't get loud and low.

IDQ 10's require .5 a piece sealed and take around 500wrms all day can't remember what the ported enclosure is, i'll have to find my catalog

1508T I believe. Thought about getting them, but then I started wondering where exactly that 1.5 or so inches of mounting depth was going...and stuck with the standard subs.

My JBL GTO 1002D's only need about 1.75 cuft for port, and I think they sound great. But, they're "lower line"... ish. Not the same volume as the 1508 f'sure.

how much mounting depth do you have to play with? i missed i if u ported i.
