small efficient amp

Looking for a small really efficient amp. Under ~300 watts, 2 or one channel is fine.

Is the Alpine PDX series a good series for efficient?

Also general questions:

If I were to run hypothetically a 1000 watt amp at the same level (watt output) as a 500 watt amp which would draw more current?

Does dropping the impedence dramatically decrease the efficient nature of the amp? Would increasing it to say 8 ohms increase the efficient nature?

I just sold a Pioneer GM-510D. It's the best amp I've heard for the size!

PDX 4.100, 150 or the 2.150 are wonderful amps. Efficient, underrated and doesn't get hot. I run one now, but I only have one problem with it. No rca outs. It has RCA inputs of course. I run an active setup for the front, and I wanted to have the option of some rear fill, but there are no outputs for that amp. May not be a problem to some, but it was to me.

There's an eclipse class D 4 channel amp that if I had it to do all over again I would have looked into, but I really like my alpine.
