Small Build log - Sundown E8's

how do you think just one of those would sound?
I used to run just one E8 off about 200RMS in a ported 0.6 cu ft box tuned to 34Hz, you would be surprised how good it sounded.

low end roll off was too steep for me though, with 2, IMO it's better to tune lower and not be able to hear the roll off.

I'm going to seal up the 0.6 cu ft box and with the port area now added it should be up to 0.75 Cu ft. I'm going to stick both E8's in there and see what the really low stuff sounds like in that box.

were they really tight before they broke in? im running my sealed and they are tiggght. i can tell they need to loosen up some. .28net ea which was recommended by jacob at sundown and im running em on the sub channel of a kicker zx700.5 (~500w @ 2 ohm for the pair)... crankin the gains up i notice a little bit of what sounds like coil slap or something... ???

The suspension is the weak point. Mine became pretty loose after they broke in.

I bought my first one uesed and it was not tight but not loose, after I had an issue with it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif (I think from use below tuning) I sent it to woofercooker for a re-cone and bought the second one from him also, when the repair and the new one arrived they were super tight compared to the used original.

from what i've learned, "crankin the gains up" is not a good idea...try leaving the gain at the lowest level possible to run the subs...then use your H/U volume control to make it loud...let me know if that makes any diff...
