Slot ports and Plexi?

So I'm still toying around with ideas for my sub stage. When my tax return comes I will be making a decision. I'm playing around with the idea of 4 Tang Band 8s or the shallow mount 10s. They are all SVC 4ohms, so 4 of them would yield a 1 ohm load for my amp. I was thinking about doing a sealed enclosure for them (easiest) with a plexi front panel and mirrors on the inside of the box, just to be different (probably the nicest set-up for Tang Bands most people will see...lol), but was wondering, if you wanted to, could you make the panels for a slot port out of plexi too? Has anyone ever done this? In my head, it seems like it would look pretty cool. I'm thinking there would be bracing between each of the 4 subs, then one big slot port at the top of the enclosure (wouldn't work on the bottom because of my rear brace being there), but the panels for the slot port made out of plexi...

Strong plexi is really really expensive, so do it if you plan to stick with that setup for a long time.

i used some lexan and the small sheet i got 12x26 cost $35

that was just a simple window. to use it for more than a window it does start getting costly

Yea you'll need some thick *** plexi hahah. Do an entire box in 1/2inch plexi. Would be the shit. Another option is to frost the plexi and light it with some led's. Then you could build most of the box out of MDF and make frosted plexi panels to cover. That would save a ton of money because you would only have to use like 1/8th inch plexi. Of course the windowed part is still going to need to be pretty thick.

Just to be different. I would probably swap out the 8s eventually. I really want to go with the RL-i 8s, but two of them, but I can't find any...it's just an idea. Tang Bands need some love too.
