Yeah, the only thing that has had that effect on my is Hydrocodone, but that's not necessarily a easy access over the counter medicine.

Its the opposite for me. i hurt my knee a few months ago and got unlimited Hydrocodone. All I did was itch and I could never sleep on them.

I have been there, alcohol is not the answer. I have been on Rozerem thats prescribed and it didnt work. Benadryl and Unisom, as well as Nyquil. The trick is to relax. Weed works well, or anything that relaxes you. Its all about turning your brain off of thoughts, just stretching muscles and relaxing.

That is actually a big help. I noticed that alot of times when I couldn't sleep, I was constantly thinking about too many things, and once I told myself to stop thinking about so many **** things, and just think about sleep, it really helped me fall asleep quicker.

But maybe it is just a placebo effect. idk.

trazodone. That's what I use. Melatonin worked for about two days. Unisom worked for about two weeks, but this stuff seems to have staying power. I started on 50mg doses, but can go anywhere from 25-150 depending on how my body reacts. Plus, it doesn't require 8-9 hours to wear off like some other sleeping pills. For some of those hypnotic ones (like Ambien) if you don't give it the proper time to wear off, you end up falling asleep on the freeway at 80 mph.
