So. Thanks to this knowledgable forum, I have decided to **** it up, and spend another $140 bucks on a (hopefully) louder system than my proposed Kenwood system, which all of you shunned. Here are my new slew of questions. I'd like the reply's to be answer's to the questions, or something relevant, I just want to make sure I have everything right, I'm about to spend $500 on a system, I don't want ANYTHING to go wrong, yaa know??
Setup:
*1 Skar VVX15 15' Sub at 600 watts RMS - $160
*Custom ported box built by Skar Audio tuned at 33hz - $120
*Audiopipe Mini 1000 watt Amp - $108
*KnuKonceptz 4 Gauge Amp Wiring Kit - $35
1. I want my alternator to see more days. I have a stock 18 year old 80 amp 12v alternator in my car. My car is my life, I need it to go to college, I need it to go to work. My planned setup is doing 600 watts at 2 ohms, because I really don't think my alternator could handle doing 1000 watts RMS at 1 ohm. At 600 watts RMS, could my alternator live, and at 1000 watts RMS will my alternator live?
2. I've heard around that the amp I selected has an external fuse. Anybody with experience with this amp, could you tell me, if everything you need to amplify your sub, comes with this amp? Do I need ANYTHING else with this amp to make it work?
3. Will this 1 Skar 15' Sub be in dB, louder than the 2 $50 Kenwood 12's at 600 watts RMS total?
4. I have a 94 Accord Sedan. I hate Vibrations. I am thinking of sacraficing a couple dB in loudness and having the sub fire into the car, instead of firing into the trunk, how much noticible difference in loudness will there be? I will have my rear seats down when I do bump almost 100% of the time.
5. With question 4 in mind, would you think there could be a compromise having the sub being on 1 side of the car, firing to the other side of the car? Basically Put the sub on the extreme left in the middle of my trunk, and have it firing to the right side of the car? Compromise on Vibrations vs dB loudness?
6. Anything else I should know about this system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
