Skar vfx 12....sq??

Yep, that’s what I’m thinking I’ll do. It’s a better choice, then trying to convince the lady otherwise...besides, she has some money to spend now, I’ve spent my share, and I’m not cutting into that...I’d be sent to the dog-house to live!
When I ordered amps, subs etc... anything pricey, I did not want to deal with the flak. Most places only ship to the billing address when it's expensive so I went ahead and ordered then intercepted the shipment en-route and redirected it to a local UPS or FedEx facility for pickup.
I'm single now... so fukit... all that bs is ancient history now.
The lengths we go for our hobby is funny/NOT... lol
My account sure ain't laughing.

...or just wait and save up for the right shit. stop being so impatient
Time, is something I don’t have...unless I wait for spring. I live in WI....soon the snow will fly, and sub-zero temps will be common. I am doing exactly zero stereo installation, in the cold...screw that! My car has been torn apart for 3 weeks now, I want it done by the end of this weekend, because wood cutting, and hunting season is almost here.
I can always change it out next spring, but I need music now!

Lol I'm waiting for it to cool off before I try to build another box

This is where I’m at now. Drivers door is all wired, Boston SL60s installed, crossover is biamped, and mounted behind the dash. I had to cut out the speaker hole, on the factory door speaker cover, due to clearance, and install kicker 6.5 grill I had laying around. I built the amp rack out a 2x4 and 3/4 plywood, I completely sealed with tight bond.
It has trhee steel L bracket mounts, that are siliconed, and screwed to the plywood, the side of the mounts that mount to the body, were siliconed, and installed after the silicone dried. All self tappers, have a drop of e6000 on them to prevent them from working there way out.
The spare tire cover, and carpet are cut to fit snug.
I have all speaker wire run, except to the passenger door.
All rca patches are ran, the head unit is ready to install.
I have to run the zero gauge power, run a ground, to my ground block, wire the passenger door, mount the passenger crossover, install the passenger speaker, close up the amps.

I guess the Icon 12” dual 2 ohm are out of stock, so I’ll be running 850w rms to my gen one type r for now. But yeah, I need a better sub.

So I’m looking at your gear and thinking to myself why on earth would you be targeting a near $300 sub when that pretty much outbudgets all the other gear in your vehicle.

Idea: spend $250(or less) on a sub and don’t cheap out on wire over impatience. Then build a clean ported enclosure to the sub you buy and you’ll be able to achieve the “sq” you’re looking for.

those OG type-r sound good ported....I had a set of 10's and a set of 12's for a while they had a little bit of a cult following and brought good money on ebay.
It actually sounded pretty good on the m-500...in the sealed enclosure, but the output was lacking.
What dimensions of ported enclosure should I go with. I may as well try.
