single sub setup/400rms 2ohm amp

i was wondering what a good amplifier and 12" sub would be for a single sub setup.

i was thinking Alpine 12" Type r w/ IDK what amp.

Car: 1996 honda civic

Can put sub in backseat or trunk, backseats also fold down

price range, around $300 for everything or $300 for sub+amp without box

lower the price the better, as long as its still quality.

looking for some pretty good sound quality but a bit of power would be nice.

Their is a Kicker 750.1 in the classified section for $140 shipped, would be a nice amp to push the Type R or just about any sub in your budget range.

That leaves you with $160 to find a nice 12" which im sure is possible.

is there a big risk in that its used will blow out? i prefer to buy new

also im super new to amps, if the rms the amp gives out is to high for the sub is there a way to turn down the watts given to the sub?

i.e the type R can take 500rms, but at 2 ohm the amp gives out 750, is there a way to lower this down to 400-500?
