single sub 500w rms trouble

In a small sealed box and a $500 budget there are at least 50 subs that murder a type R - seriously bad advice.

its not sounding too good so far

it is working , just not as good as the kicker comp cvr [not even close]. while the music is playing i do get a quick burst [half a second] of some really good bass but then it dies down [at random]

it is wired in series [ 4ohm total output]

it is working so there is no loose wires

ill try a DMM tomorrow morning.

Even though it is playing there could still be a loose wire on one of the terminals inside the box. What happends if you try to shake or move the box around while it's playing?

There's definatly something wrong here.....I guess it could be a bad sub. The DMM will tell you what's going on though.

i checked the sub connection with the DMM. it kept going from 3.9 - 4.1 , so the sub wiring is ok. the sub sounded and felt alot better today. i just think that my amp is not throwing enough power to it

What kind of amp are you running? Are you looking to get a new one?

i got a Kenwood KAC-7204 . [500w rms bridged].

i recently bought KICKER ZX1000.1 but i might return it for a JL audio G-MAX .

most of the posts say that the kicker is underrated but im not too sure if its true?

I haven't used any kicker amps, but I've heard good things about them. Are you talking about the G-Max 1200? The one that runs 1200@2ohms?

this sub sounds alot better now. first day it was barely moving, second day it was allot better, third day i fell in love with it. F the cvr. i will never go back. it sounds so nice so deep and makes the car vibrate [better than the cvr]. i cant wait to hook up my kicker ZX1000.1 to see just how much better this sub will sound
