single or dual voice coil?

one doesn't sound better then the other, it's just for matching impedence with your amp. lets say your amp makes power at 2 ohms. you would either want a single 2 ohm sub, or a dual 4 ohm so you can wire it too 2 ohms. read the sticky in the wire forum.

The advantages or disadvantages depends on the amp you're going to run the subs with.

For example if it is a 1ohm stable monochannel or a 2ohm 2channel amp go with the 4ohm dvc's or 2ohm svc's.

If it is a 2ohm stable monochannel amp go with the 4ohm svc's

With those configs you'll be able to get the maximun power from your amp.

There is no power handling difference between the svc or dvc of the same model the deffirent is in the possible wirings configs.
