single L5 10"

ok im thinking about getting a single 10" l5 in a ported box. would a kicker KX400.1 push this moderatly well? and also hoping it would kick a little more than my mach5 maw 12.. althought, its having problems of its own. guessing its wiring. bought some new ground wire and fuse holders, going to throw those in and check the wiring on the sub and see if i can find anything.. it drops sub bass randomly. when i go up hill, or downhill, the bass kicks in hard (where it should be) when i go in a straight line, the bass drops. im guessing a loose wire but ive checked multiple times, and its all secure. maybe its my sub.. something must've come loose on the inside. i thought it was my amp until i bought 3 different amps (the kicker being the 3rd) and it still does this

yes, that was my first setup. i had the 10'' l5 in the truck enclosure from kicker off the kicker 400.1 amp. my amp actually rms'd at 475 at 2 ohms.

i then swapped it into a 2 cube 32hz box. and wow, you would be impressed what a lil 10 would do.

I think you changing the ground will help alot, and you should see much better imrovement from your amp. I think if you install your current woofer in a properly tuned ported box, you would get better results from it.

its a chevy monte carlo, 97. i re mounted my ground and it improved a bit. i should be getting some 4ga in the mail tomorrow so ill run that, mount my amp. next is the box.. need to build it. then im definatly going to have to replace my coax's.. theyre a month old and almost fried. POS budget pioneers... got any suggestions on coax's? i was gonna get some soundstream 3.5 3ways and some 6x9 3ways..

yeah that was my first setup also...i had it running off of a pioneer amp that Says it does 740watts...but in reality it was more like 300 something running at 2 ohms it sounded very nice...some people thought i had a couple of 12's in my trunk...but then again its a small car, 95 tercel....

then the government broke into my car one night and stole it...
