Single DVC Sub connection... I think I stuffed up?

Hi there,

I've just brought a amp with specs:

125 Watts RMS per Channel @ 4 Ohms:

165 Watts RMS per Channel @ 2 Ohms: 330 Watts RMS Bridged @ 4 Ohms

Signal to Noise >87dB THD @ Rated Power 1% (1kHz)

I also got a Pioneer Sub DVC with specs:

12" Dual 4 ohm Champion Series Subwoofer

Power Handling:

Peak: 1400 watts

RMS: 400 watts

Impedance: Dual 4 ohm

I think I've stuffed up! Is it possible to connect this one sub into a 4ohm load for the amp? With the dual cores I think it can only be a 8ohm load which wouldn't get much power from the amp, or a 2 ohm load which would blow the amp.

Can I run one channel for each sub core rather then bridging, would that give me a 4ohm load?

8ohm or 2ohm i think... You can hit 4ohm with two subs using series/parallel wiring but at that point, you might as well pick up a new amp to keep up. pretty sure you won't blow up your amp either way. always worse to have subs weaker then the amp then amps weaker then the sub. the amp has no reason to blow up unless you make it. the subs work for the amp, not the other way around.
