Thought I'd just ask cause I see it's common to paint them in America I'v never seen that here it's always upholstered.Strategic?... LOL!.. no, I've got 4 interchangeable enclosures at this moment... making it look good is not high on my list of priorities... as long as it gets loud I'm happy...
On the flip side paint is really really expensive here.. Carpet is dirt cheap so is adhesive.I painted mine also. But have carpeted in the past.
Bad thing about mdf is it soaks up a lot of primer....need quite a bit of it so the paint stays on.
Ive done numerous raw wood, painted and carpeted...never vinyl etc yetI painted mine also. But have carpeted in the past.

Vinyl is one of the most difficult materials to work with. I've never tried it, but have seen people do it like it's nothing. It has to be streched while glued and stapled down to look good. Curves/angles are the most difficult.Ive done numerous raw wood, painted and carpeted...never vinyl etc yet
I work alone.. Tryna pick that box up wrapped in vinyl is a risk for me. I like it it looks good but eh.l cnt afford to stuff up off a slip.I've never had a loose amp or box in my vehicle... bolted, bracketed or even strapped in... one accident and you got a 100 lb projectile... NOT good
Not anymore... the subs can be mounted after you get the box in the car... subs up/port back remember?..When handling with hands. Putting that thing in a hatchback is a mission on its own for me.
