I'm interested in this too. Tryin to find an amp that will power components AND give decent power (~500 watts) to a single sub.
Do you honestly think 125w per channel as listed in the PPi4125 will have any audible difference to 150w? If you think you'll be able to hear a difference, you are very misinformed. Thanks for the suggestions guys, but the title says 150x2 500x1 or better... And I'm not looking to buy used.
I'm thinking I'm gonna have to cave & go w/ 2 amps:crap:
I dont believe I said anything of the sort. Thanks for informing me thoughDo you honestly think 125w per channel as listed in the PPi4125 will have any audible difference to 150w? If you think you'll be able to hear a difference, you are very misinformed.
The Alpine PDX 4.150 would probably work great... small and compact. They are also under rated. Most of the birthsheets show much more than the rated power.Just wondering if I could run my whole setup w/ just one amp?
comps: CDT ES620 ~ 150 rms @ 4 ohms
sub: JL12W6v2 ~ 500-600 rms @ 4 ohms
I see the Cadence txa-6004 would fit the bill perfectly, if it weren't so big & cheap. I'm looking for quality build & quality sound. And of course the smaller the better. Any ideas/options? Or am I SOL & have to settle for a 2 amp setup?
Thanks for your time
My friend just installed a PDX 4.150 in his truck (replaced a rockford 501x) and I dont notice any deficiencies in the mid-bass.You should research reviews of a PDX 4.150 so you're not disappointed when you get it. Many call the PDX power hollow in the midbass-subbass region and that it feels like less power compared to a decent A/B amp.
You have to be flexible when you're choosing amps, and realize some are underrated, some are overrated but when it comes down to it, you'll rarely be using more than 10-20% of the amps actual rated maximum RMS power output.
