They are an affordable high excursion moofer, i did mid 140's dB with one 12 and 515 watts rms @ 2.59 cubes single 4" aero tuned to 30Hz

soundstream SPLX 15" i had mine on 1000 rms for a while and it sounded great.. just throw it in a sealed box to really get low. i got mine BNIB for 275 shipped. i have it on 1500rms now and its louder than alot of 2 12" set ups ive heard.

x2 awesome sub. also look into a powerbass 3xl. very nice woofers and in your price range. 260 to 275 shipped.

do these get loud like compared to kicker l7's?

your best bet is prolly take that 300 and flash it in someone face, knock em down and run off w/ their 9915's
