single 12 in reg cab opinions

im new here, but not new to audio....i spent the last week looking at all the posts here and everyones equip, installs, opinions ect ect...

i have not bought audio equip in like 10 years so most of these brands are new to me ( like fi and such).

i got a reg cab gmc truck, bench seat, jvc head, and a jbl 1200.1 amp i'm working with...

i want/need a sub that will work well off that amp (2ohms i assume) but i want/need opinions on what sub/box combo to use....my last truck had a single orion hcca 12 off of a crossfire 1000bd in a small sealed box....very tight, pretty loud....

what i want now is a 12 in a slot ported rig behind the seat...i figure its about 2.75cubes net volume...

having the previous sub setup i mentioned in mind, i want something i with a little more spl. I know the port will sacrifice some of the sq, but thats fine.....and i know you cant have BOTH an spl AND sq monster........

so what setup can i use to get fairly decent sq, and a good bump in spl over my previous sealed 12" setup?.

also, i figure a max mounting depth of 7.5" for the sub.

so what you gurus of boom think???....i figure max dimensions for the box are like 58wide x 16 high 9.5" wide at bottom and MAYBE 5" at the top....wedge style....im short so the seats stay up about two clicks from fully back...

what chall think?? oh, and i wanna keep it under say 400$ for the box and sub.. and yes i want just one 12....i know there are lots of other things that will fit, but the opinion im asking about is a 12 in a reg cab....thanks....

ok cool....if i can go ported and not lose much or any sq over my previous setup then lets do it!!...what sub did you have in mind that fall within my specs?..i want this sht to hit, but i realize there are limits given my space, and budget.......but im open to whatever....so now i need to know what "whatever" fits my needs...

how would an Fi BL 12 running off that amp (jbl 1200.1) do..

the coils on that are rated at 1.5, so i guess i would have to run at 3ohms amp is rated at 2ohm, but i dont think there will be much of an audible power diff...

put taht bl in a 2.something cube slot ported box behind the seat tuned to like 32hz?????

how would that wang compared to the sealed orion setup i had before??..

anyone run taht setup in a reg cab truck??

that would be perfect box for a DD 2512 it will handle your power and fall in your budget....

except its for a 10"......guess you could make the hole bigger....plus i wanted to go with a ported application as i mentioned in my post.....

that box is ported and they make it in a 12 inch version just google that model number with 12 instead of 10 in it

i did a 12" FI Q in my buddy's ram...about 2.5cubes tuned at like 30hz...sounded good and got plenty loud...

I actually have a 99 Dodge reg cab with a Bl 12 behind the seat. It is powered by a Powerbass ASA1500.1, and is sitting in a 2.4 cube box tuned to 30 hz. I didn't have to move the seats forward or anything, and it still fits good. Oh and by the way, it absolutely pounds. I cant wait to get it on the meter, but that will probably be another month away.

well we had to weld on some new brackets to the center consol to move it forward a couple of inches and had to gut the truck to get the box in....but we could have just made it a little wider and not so deep and it probably would have fit with no adjustments....
