Hello everyone.
New to car audio and I was wondering if a single 10" would be enough in the trunk of my car. I recently bought a 1991 Dodge Dynasty to drive to work, and the radio was not working. So I bought a new HU and also decided to upgrade speakers. Current setup is a JVC KD-HDR1 head unit with MB Quart DKG 113 5.25" speakers in the doors and MB Quart DKG 169 6"X9" speakers in the back. I think the sound quality is great for coaxial speakers.
Now back to the sub. Some have advised me to get at least a 12" sub, but I don't want to take up to much trunk space (usefull for hauling gear to the ball field or going to the grocery store). I really feel like a single 10" will give me enough output, possibly with porting the rear deck where the 6"x9"s are at. I don't need to get super loud, but decent sound quality would be nice. Two subs that I have been looking at are the T3 TS10d4 and the RE Audio SE10D2. From what I have read both should sound good (in the right enclosure) and have decent output. Found both subs for just over $100 each. That is great because I don't want to spend alot on a car I bought primarily for work.
Any help will be appreciated.
