i wish you was close by to hear how even the phantoms are nothing special. i bet your could grab Pioneer GM-A6604 760-Watt 4-Channel Amp - Walmart.com from walmart and it would sound more transient and defined..

Phantoms are just raw power mainly for Average Joes that like it cheap and loud and budget SPL guys. I compared an A to B swap and the ppi phantom sounds much worse than my JL 6 channel in terms of raw sound quality. The PPI only has loudness (quite a good bit) over the 75 rms x 6 jl. Looking to switch it out along with my front stage after my sub setup is revamped. Will probably have the JL for tweeter and midrange duty while the PPI takes care of midbass and rears.
