First time in 25-odd years that I considered putting in an aftermarket HU in a vehicle. On suggestion from installer, ended up with 800PRS HU w/ the above front speakers; this in a 2001 Civic sedan. Retained the stock rear under consideration of future upgrading.
Had this for a while and no matter how a attempt to set up, can't get a reasonable sound quality. Bass is lean unless boosted by various means, and then I'm not happy with what else has been introduced. High freq sound is slightly strident, but (at least my current thoughts) perhaps less so over time.
With a nod to inexperience at this end, what suggestions as to upgrade or cross-grade? I'd like to stay with coax and not be installing separate component tweeters, but again . . . not that experienced so I'm open to opinions. And for the sake of additional budget, lets say $500 - $700 Cdn total for the change.
Sounds like a newb query and indeed it is. thanks for any and all
PS for any Alberta members, I hear that there is a fellow off of 101st St in the north-central part of town that is supposed to be very good, but ****ed if I could track down any contact info. Anyone know of this?
