simple wiring Q

as everybody on this forum says, copper is copper. Any wire will do, 10-12 gauge will be fine.
It would actually be too much money spent for this particular application. 16awg will suffice as speaker wire in most any daily driver installation.

As he mentioned though, copper is copper, it really doesnt matter what you get, unless the application is in an extreme enviroment, such as an engine bay or extreme cold temps.

Speakers in the engine bay... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/waycrazy.gif.f4a380c3f94043939fd369defd9e6be2.gif
It really wouldnt suprise me if Mad Mike did it, so sure.

What I meant was engine bay temps or conditions. Just giving him an idea of what type of installs or conditions require specific or special wire.

Ok, your opinion really doesnt matter to most people on the forum //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

16 gauge for 600 watts @ 2 ohms ?
Power = Voltage*Current

Voltage = Sqrt(Power*Resistance)

Votlage = 34.6 volts

Current = 17.3 amperes

At 17.3 amperes, that puts you between 12 gauge and 14 gauge ... If it's a short run, then 14 gauge should be adequate ...
16awg will suffice for nearly any sub stage wiring job since it is so short.

so ummm what should i get guys.........a website w/ a good cheap amp kit would b awesome...........//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
