simple remote wire question

I just installed a new head unit, but I had to use a wiring harness for my car. The original wiring for the head unit had the remote wire seperate and clear as day, but now with the harness it's just part of the block of other wires. Am I supposed to cut it out of the block and splice it with the remote wire for my amp?

yeah it does but I had to use a wiring harness so as I said I'm not using the original HU's wires. Is it ok to split the wire anywhere to splice it with the amp remote wire?

Im still a lil lost and forgive me, but do you mean your using a aftermarket wiring harness to install you aftermarket HU, and it has a remote wire on the harness?

You need to check to see what your tapping to make sure its not a constant 12v source, or you amps will be on all the time.

yeah it was weird but I needed 2 wiring harnesses, one that plugs into the head unit, and another from that into the factory wires. so there is a blue/white remote wire on the first harness(attached to the head unit). I just want to make sure it's ok to cut into it like this, is it?

thanks guys. let me know if it doesn't show. black piece goes into the head unit, top into the factory wiring, but you probably knew that.

I am a bit confused about the the blue wire which just loops itself back in.

*edit I just went for it, seems to be working fine.
