simple question

Gotta check if my hu works, gonna hook it straight to the battery, but don't wanna unhook all the wires, cuz i found such a good ground which was a pain in the *** to get to. Got some extra 18g speaker wire laying around, can i just hook up on end to the battery, run it to the inside throught the door, and connect it to the power wire?? I mean, is wire just wire, or is speaker wire any diff than power wire...?

just run it to a fuse in your fuse box it would be easier and you can just use speaker wire hook the yellow and red up to test it

wire is pretty much wire just the thickness will let more power go through it etc. your hu doesnt need much power so speaker wire would work fine this is just simple terms for you i hope you understand what i mean

The yellow wire is just the constant power wire so that the deck doesn't lose it's memory settings. The red wire is the wire that actually turns the deck on and off with the ignition (or, it will say on all the time if wired to a constant power source).
