Simple Amp question... I think

Hi everyone -

Just a quick question about amps... I'm looking to install a 5 channel amp in my boat. This amp is 50X4, and 285X1... it's the Infinity 5760 (I think).

Anyway, my question is this -

After looking at the amp (online), I see that it has 3 inputs - front, rear, and sub. I know that I can do without the sub inputs, because it has an internal feature for this, but my question is, can I use this amp if I only have 1 set of pre-amp outputs on the head unit? Do I just split the RCA cables and run the single right and left channels to both front and rear?

Am I making sense?

Let me know if this is possible...

Thanks!

yes, just split it.. it will work-

you will prolly want to get some kind of crossover to remove the high frequencies though. (amps usually have limited ssf's and crossover points, but you can try it without the xover, and if you dont think there is enough bass, get the xover or some other solution)

Is the cross over in the amp not going to be enough?

I guess I'm not exactly sure what a crossover does.... anyone mind explaining it? And why you would need another one if there is already one in the amp?

Ok, so one more question... are there high quality splitters that I should use? I don't want to have good RCA cables just to have a cheap splitter... do I get this from a stereo shop, or would they have them at radio shack?
