Si Magnum 15" Vs Brahma Iv 15"

yea thats wat im saying...shipping a mag here would **** me in the longrun...and yea if i only need 600 watts rms to get a driver to sound good for a daily drive then im fine with that..not entering comps...and it will mean i wont have to upgrade my electrical either

if you buy the brahma its probably gonna be about 50/50 chance that its gonna work.
I fear I am starting to sound like an Adire fanboi, but there is no empirical support of this notion. Speak with Kyle or Bob (both highly regarded dealers of Adire) and ask them how many issues they have had with Adire.

The Pennypushers issue is an odd one: to this day they have not sent a single driver back to Adire and when they requested people to post if they have had issues with the new Adire product, only one person replied that they had (this person in fact was also already getting it taken care of with Adire). Don't believe a lot of the hearsay that gets passed around without confirmation: in one day, I read 4 different "failure rates" from Kevin Holden (of Pennypushers fame).

I cannot honestly speak from either side beyond what I have read and been told, but am merely encouraging you to look at both sides of the story with an inquisitive eye.

I've never heard a brahma mk4 but, i've heard a mkII and i would pick the mag over a brahma. I think the brahma lacks on the higher frequencies and doesn't sounds as full/warm as the mag.

The new brahmas handle power better than the old ones. They have a large vc. The change from 1600 watts to 600 watts on the RMS was because Adire never rated their power a "normal" way when the older brahmas were around, that's why they always stressed the diffenence between mechanical and thermal power handling. Secondly, just because a sub takes more power does not make it louder. I'd rather have a sub that peaks with less than 1000 watts. I think they've gotten the problem with the subs breaking under control, but either way, adire has good customer support for the most part, lots of helpful people, epecially when the finally get eveything straightened out at the factory.

PS. Not sure who mentioned it, but yeah, dan verbally rapes kids!

I remember seeing pics of the new subs and they looked like SHIT. It looked exactly like someone said, they threw some left over parts together and BAM. Not that I know anything about these subs at all, just what I've saw/read online. But I think theres plenty of woofers to choose from without having to go through any sketchyness. Never heard ANYTHING bad about the Mag though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

i know the mag is a better driver overall but im sure the brahma isnt far behind in spl and im sure the sound quality isnt to bad...i just dont know if i want to dish out a extra 300 for a subwoofer that probably gets a lil louder n sounds a lil better

That's for you to decide, if your paying 700 dollars for a mag, heck no, especially if the brahma is half the price. I don't really believe the mag is worth the money for an american buyer, just due to the higher price vs other supersubs, but that's me. Odds are the brahma will be very close in performance to your mag, probably near limits of audibility for 1/2 the price, there's really no denying that. Take that for what it's worth.

Secondly the new brahmas are far from a few mismatched parts. Adire spent a long time retooling the drivers to make them better than the older versions. Adire is the primary building house for alot of companies, so the "throwing parts around" isnt' done by adire's subs, it's the exact opposite.

Edit: Just remembered something. Crazy4os or something like that has a 15" avalanche for sale. Every bit a match for a brahma or mag, for 200 shipped.

I dont know where you are shoping but the SI MAG online is 450 or so, not 700.
