Si Magnum 15" Vs Brahma Iv 15"

yea i was thnking about a 15 q also...would 900 watts push it good? i heard it needs like 1200 to really get going thats why i wanna get a mag cause i know its effiecent and will work good off 900 watts

Wiggins always seems to have a few tricks up his sleeve but if it comes up in conversation tell him I'd like to see our drivers go head-to-head in the SPL lanes.
...and then I'll expect to be buried on here by him. 'gotta start digging my grave. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I doubt he'd argue that his drivers will match yours in SPL, but I'm sure he'd have more than enough to say about the power handling of his drivers.

If Dan comes on here you will witness me shutting up the quickest you've ever seen me shut up. One thing is for certain, you don't argue with Dan if you know what's good for you. I've seen people try...and it wasn't pretty.

Just get the Mag. I'm still wrestling over the price. But, I know I probably won't be happy unless I get one. You need another demo Nick? You've seen the Tahoe, it doesn't look too bad! It's actually clean now!

haha!

The Brahma is still the best high-linear-displacement sub I have ever heard, but I must qualify this by saying I have yet to hear a Mag. Personally, I would buy the Brahma based on the 4 that I have heard, while considering cost at the same time; keep in mind that Kyle from http://www.acoustic-visions.com is a very nice guy and should be able to take care of you.

Again, not saying anything about the Mag because, of the two, I have only heard the Brahma.

I'm sure as the primary engineer behind the designs he would have a lot to say about it. Coil diameter is valuable only in that it is a contributing factor to the surface area to mass ratio of the voice coil. I think it's rather intuitive to say that a voice coil with a higher surface area to mass ratio than another is capable of handling more power (without considering other cooling conventions). Don't see how there is too much more to discuss in that regard.

the thing is i can get the brahma for 450 shipped canadian since there a canadian dealer here...the mag would be like 530 usd(like 590 canadian) plus border charges and all that other bull so im guessing over the 600 mark...tc 3000 and the q will also have to be shipped to canada from us so thats why i leaning toward the brahma...

Well, his creditability around here is shrinking faster than Nicole Richie waist size.

Gotta factor that in. All the talk in the world cant make up for an unreliable product.

I didn't even notice you were from Canada; I must assume you are talking about Bob from http://www.creativesound.ca? Give him a call.

And you know that you will get killed at the border for something in the price range we are talking about.

Pretty much agree with everything you said. I don't understand why there is so much emphasis on the Brahma's powerhandling in the first place. If it reaches full excursion without needing much power to get there, where is the negative?

From what I've seen the only issues with the MKIVs is people blowing them through overexcursion, not from the driver reaching its thermal limits. They have the same ~32mm xmech as the previous gens and its pretty much the same xmech as the 05 XXXs. The mechanical limits were enough for the owners of those subs, I wonder why its suddenly not enough now...

I don't think people can get over the fact that more output for less power is actually a good thing.
