get a real truck
K...pardon me sir tacovic. a SAS is something I would love to do...but even doing it the cheap way would cost over $2K. Suspension lifts for this thing cost close to $2K all said and done. I live in florida. there are not many rocks to crawl. So, next best thing...mud..ditches...creek beds. Mudfests are a lot more the scene around here compared to rock crawling sausage-fests.once you put on some lockers, armor, sliders, a suspension lift, or a solid front axle, then you can come wheelin with me. even with all of that your POS ford wouldnt keep up with me. oh and btw "muddin" is not really wheelin. it ****s your truck up in so many different ways. gettin muddy every once in a while is fun but thats about it.
"mudfests" are not my thing. i look at wheeling almost as a sport. it takes skill and experience as well as a trail worthy rig. driving through the mud takes none of that. its cool if thats all you have down there but in the off-roading community its pretty much a joke. and putting 20" rims on any "off road" vehicle is just silly. whats your gear ratio by the way? normally anything above 33s your going to need to regear. and you will regret that body lift in the long run when it ****s up your truck. its just not my thing i guess. mud caked underneath your truck doesnt impress me one bit. but to each his own. also why start out with an explorer sport trac anyway? there are countless other trucks that would plow mud way better than that will.K...pardon me sir tacovic. a SAS is something I would love to do...but even doing it the cheap way would cost over $2K. I guess putting on wheels and tires as a start isn't good enough for you. I have to spend 10 grand just to go "wheelin" with you. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yes.gif.2d6d3882a589966b8145fbc57db57f33.gif
I know it's not for everyone....but it's something different on this type of truck. EVERYONE has 15s and 16's with 33/35's. I'm the ONLY explorer sport trac with 20x10" rockstars, let alone with 35's....and attempting with only 2" of lift to start. Love you too.
Well, we've had the sport trac since brand new in 02....and finally about 3 months ago I started driving it a lot more, and pretty much took over and started modding. Wanted to do something no one else has. And I've done it. 20" wheels would be horrible if I was trail riding or attempting rock crawling....but I'm not! I bought the wheels used...while spending a good amount on em....I only spend $1500 shipped on the rim/tires, and I'm not afraid to scratch them, if I do I'm stripping and powdercoating. The gears are 4.10...power isn't bad. Most guys regear if they go 37's, or 35's if they have 3.73s. it's at least a limited slip....I beg to differ on no skill in mud. Body lifts ****, I know. only viable options on these trucks without spending HUGE $$$ on the front. You called it a street queen. I said it goes mudding a lot. Therefor, I bought mud grapplers. Now your attacking me. the trucks nice id buy the tires from you ifyou lived by me. i was about to buy some 38.5 mud grapplers for my powerstroke but as soon as i tried they stopped making the 38.5, which sucks or them and me. good looking truck and dont let a h8r down your mudtater..... hey that rhymes? poopy woopyWell, we've had the sport trac since brand new in 02....and finally about 3 months ago I started driving it a lot more, and pretty much took over and started modding.
