Shop Owners.....am I getting the shaft?

I bought a PG Xenon 1200.1 bout 2 months ago. It had to be returned for warrantee to PG 1 week after it was bought (installed by shop). Took 5 weeks to get it back. I have had it for around a week and a half and another issue with it. The shop told me they would refund me store credit ($450 + tax). Trying to sell me a Rockford t1000bd (think thats model for an additional $200), or a JL1000/1 for $999 (will not pay that price!!!). They do not carry PG anymore. Should I expect them to give me a cah refund, or have to take store credit on there lines of merchandise. Also anyone have any input on the RF. From what I read there is not many fans of the new RF line. Will not deal with that shop after this.....is getting ridiculous. Any and all input would greatly be appreciated!!!!

 
Id get my money back, they product had defects. Now if you had returned it on your own accord that would be diffrent.

But deffinetly say something.

And its normal procedure to give ya credit back, they want to keep your business there... maybe if u ***** enough u could get a full refund?

 
It depends on the shop's stated policy. If their policy is to give returns in the way of store credit rather than a cash refund then you may be out of luck.

Certainly I can understand a reticence to pay retail for a 1000/1, no doubt about it!

x2. It will all depend on their printed policy. Ask to see it. If it states "store credit only" even if it was a product defect you are really at their mercy.

 
tell them u will meet them half way on the difference for the RF amp, for the crap youve gone through with the PG...

That's where I am running into probs. Their policy is store credit only. The thing is they only carry 2 products that will come close to the PG's rated power that is 1 ohm stable. Both I have to pay a considerable difference. Was just hoping I have some ground to stand on for cash refund. If I could get that, I'd probably just go buy me a 2500d. I loved the old school RF's, but I have heard the newer ones are not very efficient. I have heard they distort way before their rated outputs.

Is it a printed policy? Is it on your receipt or on a clearly posted sign? Or is it just a verbal policy; if so, was it given to you at time of purchase? You, as a consumer, have more protection than you realize and I would recommend using them as leverage to obtain your refund. If you purchased by credit card, then your protection is much, much greater as you can file a chargeback claim with the credit card company -- if it gets to that point. I always use my credit card to have the greatest purchase protection; Visa/MC is very good while American Express is the best.
