****nn!!!!! like 50% of the people on these forums say that the shiva is 300rms, and the other 50% say it is 600rms. 50% recommend the 600.1 (and say the 1200 will kill a shiva), 50% recommend the 1200.2 (and say spend the extra 80 bucks so that you can have a good amp if you want to add another sub)

Whats the deal here? What is actual rms of the Shiva sub? is the 600.1 enough to power it to its maximum? or is a 1200.1 needed?

yes a 600.1 is enough to power it to its maximum, this is straight from the adire website....375W per voice coil; 650W total to the driver. The jbl 600.1 puts out atleast 650 i would say....i personally would go with the 600.1 over the 1200.1. If you do want the 1200.1.....im selling mine

oh yeah....i was just looking at the site and remember that the lowest u can wire one shiva is 4 ohms....which means your 600.1 would only send 300...the 1200.1 would push out 600. once again....i'll sell mine for 220 barely used if you would like

yeah i have siad it time and time and time again that a 1200.1 to a single shiva is a good investment. i'd recommend getting 2 shiva's on a 1200.1 if you can afford it though you'd love the difference.

does no body know what they are doing?

look at the Shiva's specs..

teh impedance of the VC's give youa dual 8 ohm configs..

allowing you (single driver) 4 ohm (parallel) or 16 ohm (series) operation....

the JBL 600.1 puts out 300 watts at 4 ohms..

the 1200.1 puts out 600 watts at 4 ohms...

guess whcih one is better for it??

know what you are talking about before you start BSing

I've personally put them through the ringer and they came out smiling at me.....I'm not afraid, for a second, to put a pair of shiva on a 1200.1 SEALED....

Tell me wonderbread..... Do I know what i'm doing?

Now...on to the subject...yes....600.1 will do fine on a pair...1200.1 will also do them justice......your wallet and capability will be the deciding factor.... 1200.1 can push them beyond RMS stated...TRUE...but used wisely....will not harm them......

Be carefull and have fun.....

used wisely?

used PROPERLY they will give the Shiva what they ask for...

600 RMS per driver...

not much more as teh JBL is rated at about 1300-1350 watts AT 14.4 V, not the typical 12 something v you see in street cars...

dont ever worry about a 1200.1's on a pair of shiva's, its waht tehy want, so give it to em

sorry guys, i was in a bad mood, rough day, etc...

all i'm trying to say is there is more to take into account taht just teh pwoer ratings of an amp, such as the load presented to it...

thats the wonderful things about DVC drivers, versatility....

I was only referring to the people who keep saying that the 1200.1 will fry em... it wont, *when set up PROPERLY* not carefully...

Properly...

The 600.1 would be fine! The Max power to each Shiva is something like 675, but the RMS is something around 325, so the 600.1 would work great! At 4 ohms, you will be giving it little over 300 watts! I have called the guy at ampman audio (one of the adire dealers) and he gave me these numbers. I think that he would know what he is talking about. Plus, I have a 600.1 running 2 Shivas (at 2 ohms, sending each 300 RMS) and they sound great! Dont over power them with 1200.1

no offense to woahna but there is at least 1 guy on this forum alone using a 1200.1 to a single shiva and black00 i believe is very familiar with adire products if i'm thinking of the same guy who uses a tempest 15"??? anyway i'd get the 1200.1 if you have the cash that is all it depends on. well and don't play volume master with your 1200.1

I've done sick things to a Tempest....molested Shiva...beat the maelstrom for all its worth..and getting better and better at controling a brahma....(brahma really takes some getting used to)

Updating on brahma....did 149.9 on linear X with a single brahma 15 and the new RE 35.1 amp (1500w) in Pro Street 2 in Meca... right now Ranked #9 in the nation.
