shipping subs?

Ok so I'm selling my 4 OA 15s and I have a few offers from other states. I'm trying to find out how to ship them for low price but it's not adding up. When i bought them from Obsidian, the shipping for all 4 was only like $130. When I get an estimate on UPS's site it's saying $500 for each sub lol.

Am I doing something wrong?

1. Dont put the real value put $5 and bulletproof that shipping.

2 depending on the weight and what box youll put them in itll be anywhere from $20-80 per sub. Heavier subs are more expensive not worth it in my opinion unless your ready for a steep loss

Have them pay thru paypal, then go to paypal payment histories, right next to the payment for the item you want to ship, there's a ship your package option/button, click it and make a free ups account. Going through that will be a lot cheaper than going to the store. You can even exaggerate on how light the box weighs to an extent to save cash. only costed me 40 dollars to ship a 60lb 12" motor.

I still have 2 Obsidian 12s laying around. They are right at 30 pounds each. Depending on how far they are going I would say $40 each Fedex ground. I shipped an 18" a little while back and it was $52 but it was from FL to CA

Alright well I'll weigh a sub tomorrow and see how much it weighs. I still have the boxes that Obsidian used to ship them to me, can I reuse them? They have the shipping label or w/e it's called still on them but I can just put the new one over it right?

yea you can use the boxes. just attach a new label over the old one..

i used to use fedex and ups to ship packages out. and by far we had the best rate with fedex. things shipped to illinois from ohio was like $80 ups but only like $15 fedex?

might just be a business contract tho. but fedex was always cheaper but 90% of the stuiff we sent out was ups

Don't put real value put 5$? So what if the item gets damaged, you only want it insured for it's value of 5$ that you put? What's the point of this?

I've shipped an old school RE XXX before and that thing is a beast. I shipped it in a mini crate and it cost me like 75$. I'm not sure how you're getting a 500$ quote for each sub. I don't even think it'll cost that much if you ship all 4 on a pallet and shipping it through freight.

well ups insures up to 100$ i believe anyways? and if you put the real value of the shipment in it will increase the price up even more. and yes usually freight would cos a little less. but you need to make sure that the freight is very well packaged on a skid shrinkwrap cones to prevent stacking because all truck drivers dont care they get sent to locations saing they have 5 palets to pick up in reality there is 12 so they stack to keep their room available for the rest of the frieght pickup. and shipping freight to a residential address will cost more as well
