Shipping is insane...

So I went looking for answers on this today. Between 2002 and 2006, Exxon spent over 80 billion dollars to find and develop new energy sources. In 2008, they intend to invest another 20 billion dollars for the same.
Another fine example of the wonderful political system at work.
Boy one would think 80 billion would allow you to come up with something a little better than oil //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

two words....memphis belle

double boxed, outer dimensions were 30x18x9

You're in Texas though...shipping from NY to Cali is probably close to the longest distance within the 48..
Also, I read something, they calculate it on 'dimensional weight' since my package is so light, yet in a larger box. 'Dimensional weight' for my package is 30lbs. It's calculated based on the size of the box. It's absurd.

I have never had bad luck persay with any shipping company, just prices vary.

For me USPS is the cheapest, but tracking is meh, even with priority, but I usually use them being they are close.

When I visit my parents and I am shipping something out, I use UPS and their tracking is spot on.

I will say I just over-nighted a MO the other day through USPS and the tracking number they gave me said it would be there in 2-3 days and well it actually got there over night, lol! So just depends I guess.

For example, although I can't remember the box dimensions, but it was 15 pounds I believe, type X 5.25 componet set to Washington State from Ohio and it hit me up for almost 40 smacks through UPS. Only sold the set for 110 smacks, so only made 70 bucks out of it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I will do items plus shipping to people that live far away anymore.

hehe, By passing the cost on to the consumer to maintain there own revenue they are effectively screwing us while they live well. I mean really we are in a recession, but they are making the same money as before. Just doesn't seem fair. Oh well life isnt fair.
