shipping 18" subs?

You can make your own cardboard boxes to any size you want by using an exact-o knife and just cutting a very thin slit and bending the cardboard. As for packaging the sub itself, use some pool noodles do go around the surround to protect it that way. Some thick styrofoam on the bottom around the motor keeps it in place pretty well. When shipping a big sub like that you're better off building a simple box out of plywood that's just big enough for the woofer and necessary packing to fit into it, so it doesn't move much. Other than that it just comes down to common sense

Don't use a crate.....I've seen those fail many times

Get the 2" styrofoam sheets from Home Depot and cut it to size to fit around the sub in the box. Do like 2 layers around the magnet. Have shipped numberous 50+lb subs like this and they are fine

double layered cardboard ONLY for 40+lb subs. 2" thick foam hotglued on the bottom of the box with the foam counterbored 1/2" for the mag to sit in. then bag the woofer not first under the motor cause it will slide around. then notch out L's outta foam that go lock the sub down from the gasket, glue them in with goop. then min 2 layers of cardboard that sit on the foam L's and glue them down. and fold the box and glue that to the cardboard. i have had 0 issues with shipping like this...
