shaving with razors?

so i'm 24 years old, and i've probably shaved about 5 times in my life with a razor and shaving cream/gel. nobody was around to teach me, so when i needed to start shaving, i just went out and bought a shitty electric razor, and that was always good enough for me. now i'm finding myself wanting a closer shave though so my electric just doesn't cut it.

so here are some simple questions..

do you guys use shaving cream or gel? and what kind?

what razors do you use?

with or against the grain?

if need be, flame first so we can get it out of the way

i use gel and Mach 3 razors...doesn't get much better. Other than a Hot lather/straight razor shave
