Shallow mount subs

Hey guys,

I've recently upgraded my car to a BMW 128i convertible, and although I love the car, the stereo is lacking. I've been reading where people have upgraded the under-seats subs to the Earthquake SWS-8X model subs and I'm wondering if there are better options or if this would be the best "factory replacement" option. The mounting depth (2-1/8")seems to be the biggest reason that people are choosing these. Any recommendations for a shallow 8" that'll fit this mounting spec?

I'm on a very tight budget as well (under $500 including the amp), so keep that in mind if/when making recommendations.

Thanks!

there is a sound stream 13.5 inch, or the more popular jl audio 13.5 inch shallow, these have the best reviews, and are by far the shallowest. only problem is that they are a little spendy
